True or False

I don't know how true that is and how it would apply in all applications. If you caulk your sealed box and put a sub in there and start playing it I could maybe see where it could mess with the surround. If you caulk your box, wait a few hours then play your sub in a ported box, i would think all of the fumes wouldn't really affect it

 
Why not use silicone? and if silicone is suppose to do something to the surround.... I dunno know about that. Have put it on a few surrounds and never had a problem.
