Truck starting help

Okay, so this is an older GMC (early to mid 70s). Its an orchard one ton flat bed with a 350 and manual 4 speed plus two rear - 2x4

Anyways, long story short it has been sitting for 4ish years, and pack rats have torn the shit out of it. I got all the major wires repaired/replaced. New battery as well, and something is still wrong. The pos side of the battery goes to the starter, and then relays to everything else in the truck.

Does that mean for sure I need to buy a new starter solenoid? Or are there more error checking things I can do before I go about replacing that? As far as I can tell, every wire that means anything has been delt with. Some like a couple light wires and torn to shit still, but other then that all power/primary/ground wires and good.

I think its the starter, but I dont know how it can go bad by just sitting.

Thoughts/ideas?

Cliffs-Old truck wont start. Think its the starter, and looking for other things to check before I replace the starter solenoid.
