i have a dodge dakota ext cab. which box design would cause a higher spl a box with the subs firing up or the subs firing in to the back of the seats

Just from personal experiance in my GMC.... having my subs firing into the back of my seats pretty much dampened and lowered the SPL extremely. I'd say fire them up. Or if you're taking your seats out or whatever... aim them towards the back wall. I've seen an s10 go from firing up, to firing towards the back, and there actually was a very noticable difference. Heh. Just try stuff out man.
