truck box, single hdc3 12, 2cubes 38hz

alright pretty boring and simple its just a box but i figure itll make me a contributing member of the forum...

box is 52 long, 13.5 tall and 10 deep, has a C channel 17" in from the sub side in the back, its 10" wide and 2.5" deep, port is 4" x 8.5" giving me 34 in^2 for 2 cubes, tuned to 38hz per DJ's recommendations, nothing special but here ya go, couple pics. not done yet, planning on finishing off with 1/4" birch all the way around (except back and bottom) and staining for a different look

the pic with the port... the port is obviously not glued n screwd i just sat the wood in there to get a visial

yeah those were pretty much my sentiments too, im working with limited space, basically trying to utalize as much as possible theres nothing special or complicated or inivative about it, just a box

well its been a white since i updated, braced the box with 1 1/8 dowels, put the baffle on, and im on to the "finish" part of the box. I took an acetalene torch and blackened all the seams of the box and the port for a discoloration then stained the box with a dark stain that escapes my mind at the moment (dark maple i think). the burnt seams give the box and old cabinet kind of look. still needs a couple more coats of stain and finish but turned out pretty good i think.

thanks guys, i thought it would honestly look really plain and stupid on mdf cuz it has no grain, but an acetalene torch and some good brush strokes and bam woodgrain lol

downfiring? you mean up? sub forward port up, my last box was sub forward port sideways so i thought i'd try something different
