trouble with my stereo memory

hi i just bought a new car stereo and tho it is all fine an apparantly done properly everytime i turn the engine off the memory is wiped an goes back to the factory settings:crap:? anyone know how to solve this??? many thanks

the wires are wrong, no constant connected only switched

aahhh, i used the wires that came with the stereo? are they no good then? can i get round it without buyin a new set of wires?

What did you install it in? Did you use a radio harness install kit to convert the factrory harness to the radio harness?

you have a + constant and a + switch you are only connected to the switch so when the ingition is off, no power goes to the HU and its just like unpluging it. you need to be connected to both

Who installed it?

Number one cause for this is either whoever installed it didnt correctly hook-up the ACC wire (RED) or got frustrated and jumped the constant wire (yellow) over to the ACC. Some cars also lack certain wires at the radio harness... in that case you need to run them over from the ignition harness or make a ground.

Seen and fixed it a million times in the install bay
