Trouble shooting a friends ride

Alright my friend used to have 2 12s and amp but sold the subs do to a ticket he had to pay for. Right before he sold it his amp would cut it and cut out. We figured the amp was just broke. So he recently got to 12's and a new amp and after putting them in the amp wont lite up. We know for sure the subs and amp work.

I checked the ground and power wire. Checked fuse under the hood and made sure it was connected good at battery and that there was a good ground.

my questions to you is where check now? I figured I would pop out the head unit and maybe re run a new turn on wire and make sure the rca's are making a good connection at the stereo. What do you guys think?

cliffs- subs and amp work but not in a certain car. Power and ground are fine in the car. where to check now?

If you have a good ground and power then take a Multi meter and check to see if you have power coming from your remote wire at the amp. If you dont have power then it might have a bad spot in the wire. I had the same experience and couldnt figure it out. So i literally riped everything out and when i installed all the wires again i found a crimp in the remote wire and that was the problem

trust me when mine done that i didnt think nothing of using one either. But after it was said and done i was pissed cause my multi meter was setting right there in clear view and i was like Dam why didnt i just use that. LOL

A quick way to check the remote wire is just a temporary jumper from the positive to remote terminals.
