I bought to low of a gauge for my amp. Is even this possible? or can I just shave it down to size? The owners manual for the amp didn't even give recommended gauges. I just went off what this website told me. WoofersEtc.com - R1200-1D - Rockford Fosgate Monoblock 1200 Watt Prime Series Class D Amplifier

Look at this ****. Is it still possible to use?

so overkill, just cut wires off to make it smaller till it fit
Lol that's probably what I'm going to do man. I want to get this finished tonight, and I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't blow my amp up or anything.

Though I may get some reducers later to see if I notice any sort of improvement in SQ.

You can cut it down to size, and should have no issues. Thanks RF for the recommendation for the wrong size wire!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

Wont do any damage as long as no stray strands touch something there not suppose to

I had to use reducers on my AudioSystem Twister, but the width of the reducers were to wide and the power and ground would have touched. I ended up having to shave back wire. I put heatshrink on the wire, put the end of the wire in the amp and then heatshrunk it so no strays could get out.
