Trouble finding a spot to run my power wire through

I have a '94 Acura Integra and I am installing a subwoofer/amp.

I was considering drilling a hole through the firewall beneath the battery to run the power wire through.

Is there a better option?

Where do you guys have your wire entrance?

in my friends 96 teg, we ran his -0- under the car... and just came in throught the fender well

drill a hole and buy a grommet at the local auto parts store... going through the fender (from under the hood to the cab) is classic ghetto install and going underneath is probably more work than it's worth

Wouldn't the exposure to the elements cause damage to the wire?

^^^what acidic said & prior to drilling the firewall be sure that whats behind it is clear of any lines i.e. a/c

you can even go to a home improvement store like Lowe's to get gromments.

theres a grommet if i can remember correctly....on the right side round plastic grommet....its on the other side of the battery.....pop that thing out and put your wire through

Most vehicles have various wires that are run underneath them. The only protection that they get is wire loom. Just make sure that you don't run it close to the exaust and secure it with wire ties and you will be fine. The only negative to this is someone could look underneath your car and see it, and then they would know that you have a system.

if there's enough space for your power wire & the other wires originally going throught that grommet than its ok to proceed. be sure to use a grommet though in any instances.
