ouch man that sux. i dont even have a system yet and im worried about it gettin jacked with all these threads poppin up lately.
o well look at the bright side.... a reason to make a newer and better system

yeah it has an alarm and it went off, 3 neighbors heard it, looked out and saw the lights flashing but did not see anything else.

**** that sucks, can you elaborate a little bit on insureing your aftermarket stuff with geico? about how much extra does it cost and what is a "rider"

Well according to the Customer service rep who took the claim, she asked if the stolen items were factory installed or aftermarket, i told her that it was aftermarket, she asked if i notified the underwritting department when i installed it, i told her no cause it was only installed a few days ago. She told me that it will not be covered cause i needed to let underwritting know and provide receipts, value and have the car reinspected by them to acess if the additional items increased the value of the car and if so a rider to the policy needed to be written showing the additional value and increase in rates (of course) since this was not done, they will not cover it. Which sux cause i have all original receipts and serial numbers! seems like tje insurance companies way of weaseling out of paying. wish i could weasel out on my monthly payment to them cause of a stupid rule. ya think that pictures, receipts and serial numbers would be enough to prove that the system was in the car.
What horror stories! ****. Do have your windows tinted? Weren't your amps bolted down with at least one hex screw?
In the new cars you can lock the trunk from inside so the thieves cannot get to it unless they break the **** car. So the amps and the sub at least should be safe. It also depends in which neighborhood you live perhaps, though those low lifes can follow you all the way to Bel Air.
Regarding the insurance, I go with Wawanesa. They are very cheap and cover any equipment for up to $1500 value. So I don't have to report anything unless I go over that value.

yeah the windows were limo tinted BLACK (02 blazer) I hope the piezo sirens mounted in the dash made the a**hole go deaf! amps were mounted to amp rack with all hex bolts and rack was welded thru floor to frame. they unscrewed the security bolts and left them on the floor in a pile next to the rack kinda like an F-U to me, they cut all the wires including the 1/0 gauge wires. unplugged all the RCA's then destroyed the dash, makes no sence. they were careful with amp and box (which was bolted to the floor) but ruined the AV unit by yanking the wires and beatin the crap out of the dash. My neighbor is a State Trooper and he and his friends .357 and 9mm are gonna keep a watch out now, this is the 3rd car in the neighborhood in like 2 months. The neighborhood is a typical city neighborhood but there are like million dollar condo's across the street and down the block so it is not like it's ghetto around here.
That means that the people who did this knew you. They couldn't just guess that if they broke your windows they'd get a great system (unless you had an advertisement sticker on your car).

I think I'm going to add an electricity shock to my car - 800 volts. The thing is you have to make sure that the sucker dies otherwise you'll have to pay his recuperation fees. Such stupid laws in USA.

i try to keep a low profile especially living in the city, no ad stickers, or any kind of stickers for that matter, i never play loud or "bump" near my house or any lot where i am gonna park the car unattended, only the rims, projector lights and euro's in rear are the only "flashy" items on the exterior, the car is bright red though. I have worked on the car in front of my house at times but never anything to really draw attention.

even the cop was like WTF the amps were secured with security screws and they left all 8 in a nice pile on the floor. i really do not associate with anyone in the neighborhood but it has to be some one who knows the truck and has scoped it out before. Dude down the street has a ricer all done up with stickers all over it and does not get bothered, he came by when he saw the cops to tell us that some spanish dude with dreads in the neighborhood has been breakin into cars and stealin crap.
