Wassup,

Just had a quick comment and question. I saw that a few here have a pretty good understanding of the TL boxes.

I am in GA and wanted to know of a few good places (preferrably inexpensive) where I can have my TL box made or perhaps a couple of websites.

I will have a heck of a lot of space so dimensioning is not a factor. I have gotten a couple of places to price me one for my Mmats Juggy (with the D100HC hooked up to it) and it looks like its a $400 shot just for a single enclosure.

So my question is, do you have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Just a regular Ported?

Well I guess so, but I was under the impression that if I have some of the car audio specialist create me a TL box, I would get the best of both worlds as fas as spl and sq. I agree that they can be a b*&ch to make properly, so I was just asking around to see if any new of some places or websites that have the knowledge and expertise.

By the way if ported, does it make a difference if the port is the vent type or round type...Also, what about the 90 degree form sets?

Thanks again....and Im looking forward to more input.

hey i forgot to say this in my PM...sound sensations does it for 230...that it completely custom built to your car carpet etc. they make some nice boxes up there i would not look over them. if you go up there, ask for a demo in the amigo and the 300zx.

Funny you should mention them rco8786...thats who I went to. They quoted me a price of about 350. They said it would be more because I have my own sub. I could probably swing around $250, but **** 350 for calculated pieces of wood put together..geesh. But you are right on with what Im in search of.

Thanks.

Jmac,

Im with you all the way....I didn't pay but 280 for my Mmats Juggernaut...and its new. When the reps there told me it would be about $285 plus about $50, cause I had my own sub I was like.....shiiiiiiiiiiitttttt...But my problem is, you cant beat the sound performance of the TL boxes...or can you? Hmmmmm.

LOL.....Yeah I know. Thats why I mentioned that I would have loads of space........not to worry, I can give up that kind of space in a suburban.

Well I just thought I would update you guys. I went ahead and had me a regular ported built (not a bad price $80). Man that juggy hits so hard that Ive only had it on for a couple of hours and the dustcap is already coming off.....I think im about to shatter some glass....and the amp is turned down to zero and the factory deck bass is all the way down to.....the only way I have to turn it down is to fade to the rear...lol

One problem is I have to backtrack and check out my factory deck connections as I am now experiencing some clipping.

Thanks,

I hope so too.

My situation is, instead of buying an in-line Hi level to Lo-level converter, I decided to construct my own by taking a long RCA type speaker wire and cutting it to tie into the factory speakers (front left and front right channels). Well, when I play my radio at higher levels for clarity from my factory speakers, I experience some clippign and even the radio cuts off.

At first I thought it was my amp, but hell, its on zero and Im running 4 awg for the (+) and (-).

The only thing I can think of is that the deck may think its running 4 speakers in parallel....But I thought it was just to receive a signal.

Any suggestions?????

ummm get a line level converter if you need speakek level to the amp but like you did is murder to the amp it is like feedin a steak to a baby not recomended so please for the sake of the amp and sub get a line level converter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

bass_mekanik,

I feel ya on the move to get a in-line converter. But the in-line will boost the signal to the amp(even at the lowest setting). Trust me when I say I do not need any more boosting to the amp. I guess another question would be....by buying an inline converter, would it take the strain off of the factory channels. I believe that my deck is 1/2 ing up the load causeing twice the current....thats why I mentioned the capacitor (or did I?).

Anyway, one other question:

How is the inline converter constructed? I mean, it has to have some sort of filter with a potential meter on it for it to contral signal stregnth...any suggestions?

a line level converter converts the speaker level into a line level signal as well as boost it to teh correct power and all so yes you will NEED one unlsess you have speaker level inputs into the amp now
