This one you can see the back of the wolf to the left of the tree.

things like this is why I've got a rifle/bow in one hand, and a 40 cal with a surefire light in the other when im walking to my treestand or blind ... but michigan DNR has denied cougars for years and likes to claim the wolves up here only migrate 'through' michigan

wow.. I would never kill a wolf or anything like it unless there were a need for it..

yea here in Missouri there are alot of mountain lions, and our conservation says there isnt. a while back an old lady hit one with her car and they said it was a dog. yea there are huge dogs running around with 5 ft long tails. so yea i carry a glock .40when im walking to the stand.

sorry if that was taken the wrong way but no, i wouldn't kill one for the joy of doing so (if some pathetic individual could find joy in that) ... but my bolt action 7mm-08 isn't too "effective" for stopping an attack, and a bow would be useless

about 3 years back a woman had her kids playing in the yard, about 3 miles outside of "town" (my town is 13,000 people ... pretty small) well the subdivision they live in is heavily wooded, kinda rural, and she saw something sitting in the woods thought it was a dog called the kids in the house and it came prancing through the yard. she got a picture, sent it to the newspaper, and it was a cougar and could tell by the pics but DNR's statement was something to the effect of "they migrate between Canada and Wisconsin, there's no need to worry they're just on their way through"

ninja edit: another good one ... a guy between the two larger towns around here was walking around the woods behind his house, rifle in hand i guess, saw a cougar off in the distance and shot it. tracked it, took the dead animal and dropped it off at our DNR's branch office. said "is this proof enough?" ... i think they're finally starting to admit a cougar problem in michigan.
