ide ask for court supervision you might be on it for like 6 months to a year but its better then having points on your license . but the thing that sucks about it is that if you get another ticket in that time then the one you weer on super vision for is brought back up and you get hit with a double whammy. i know the first time i was on it its was for a year i got cough doing 53 in a 30 (i was just glad he didn't nail me 3 min before) and no insurance cause i didn't know my insurance had lapsed . keep out of trouble for a year then the second one i got hit in a parking lot in the back end and they said it was for improper backing got put on it for 6 months then but im done with that now and back to speeding like a mad man i just watch out for cops and have a radar detector

That may be an option. Seeing as I haven't gotten a ticket for over 5 years, I think I can manage 6-12 months. I will need to buy a radar detector though. Although I generally don't go that fast. I had to stay an extra night down home because my parents are moving and something came up that kept me from leaving when I'd planned. I got caught speeding because I was trying to get back up to school in time. Most of the time I do about 10 over and the cops don't blink twice. I guess I just entered the treshold where this guy gave a shit.

So when I go to court, I'm assuming I just plead guilty and ask about the school? This is just a bit confusing to me because I've never been to court, never gotten a speeding ticket before, and this is only the second ticket I've recieved since I started driving almost six years ago.

YOU NEVER PLEAD GUILTY... WTF!!!!

Plead "NO CONTEST" if anything.........Even if you know you are guilty... Who has been providing you with legal advice up until this point??

14. Going 79 in a 65.

I found an online school that seems to be approved for ticket dismissal and insurance discounts for the issuing county, so hopefully it will work. I'll be calling the Clerk of Courts on Monday though to make sure before I sign up for anything. I would much rather pay the $30 for the online thing than the $186 for the ticket.

I thought most in most states that 14 and under you got no points

see hes the thing ive noticed you can usually do about 70-75 and they wont f with you to much unless they see you hit you breaks then they know that you saw them and its to late cause your getting a ticket unless the cop just feels like being an a hole . But not to be an *** but with speeding and getting a ticket did you get to where you weer going any faster

Never needed legal advice on anything. Again, the only ticket I ever recieved was when I was 16 and I just paid that at the local PD and went on my way.

I just assumed that by asking for options like traffic school, I would have to admit to the offense. This is why I ask. I have absolutely ZERO experience with this.

if you got one 5 years ago, then you should be able to do traffic school and get it off your record. in california it's only an 18 month period of time. so every 18 months you could take traffic school and not have it go on your record. i got pulled over for 14 over, as well, and paid the fine and did the traffic school. all in all i think it was $180 including court fees and traffic school. in my opinion, it's worth it to just pay if you know that it wasn't a speed trap and you were indeed guilty. that way you don't have to hassle with going to court.

Anyway, mine was 15 over and got nailed in a speed trap where it changed speed 3 times in like 50 yards.

Ticket was 105 and I just sent it in and my insurance never went up.

I understand only wanting to pay 30 smacks compared to 186, but sometimes they don't cut it. Keep that in mind. Least around here they don't. I have had some judges cut the court costs and other times it was the same if not more because they were being an ******* and having a bad day.

That is just in my expierence. Might be different where your at, I don't know.

Like I said, I'll just have to call the Clerk and see what I can see. I definitely won't be signing up for anything before I find out. Hopefully they do ticket dismissals for traffic school, but if not, I guess it's not a huge deal. I may still take a course this summer or something to get a discount on my insurance.
