Traditional Tattoos?

no it comes down to the artist, if you want tribal go to someone into tribal, you want gangster script go to someone that loves to do script, you want Japanese traditional go to someone that does it, because if you go to an artist that likes to do that type of work you want, you will get better work, and a better price.

Bingo. Few artists are good at everything. My guy is all about the black and grey work, he doesn't like doing color pieces so much (although he definitely can).

I dont know tats that well, but those I see on others always look faded. Are there different quality inks, or do you have to keep them oiled up to keep em bright??
Main thing is you gotta use sun block on them. Sun fades them, especially when you get burned and your skin peels; A little more color comes off each time you peel. You can actually see the color in the peeled off skin sometimes.

This.

Also no matter the artist or ink, your tat will fade over time. They all do. Your tattoo will never look as good as the day you got it.

Here is one of mine...

You would be surprised at how complicated some tribal can be. I'm not talking about the stupid shit you see on 18 year old's who just want a quick tattoo. Since you seem to have a pretty decent understanding of tattooing I would suggest you talking to your artist and asking him to show you some real tribal work and you will be amazed. I'm not a fan of tribal work myself but I've been to numerous conventions and personally seen some tribal piece's that blew my mind.
describes my friends tribal work to a T. it looks like shit, and it doesn't mean anything to him

I got my first tattoo when i was 14 done with a bic pen with a motor on it, it says 1904 on the inside of my right foot, my first legit tattoo i got the day after i turned 18 and it says loyalty on the back of my right forearm.

honestly I don't see the relation as to the things people get....I feel the tats are more-or-less a trend. Like I have reasoned myself as of now not to get a tatoo. I find I have nothign significant to throw on myself for LIFE. But I know other people may feel different. The thing is though...If I did it would be asian art...like the dragons coi's but they all having meaning since I am asian. I am just curious to know for people not necessarily with that background what motivates you to put that on....or what connection....I don't see it.....Don't get me wrong you do it and u like it I aint baggin o nothin but just Im curious

My half sleeve represents the eternal truth of mankind. Every morning I look at it and it makes me ready to take on the day, no matter what may lie ahead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My others have meaning as well but since I dont have pics handy it would be hard to explain. Basically it is what someone values enough to be permanently displayed on one's body.

And then there are those that get tats, that really have no meaning. Its a person to person thing.

Yes certain tattoos are trends, such as nautical stars, or famous stars and straps and shit. But most tattoos are ART. Everyone of my tattoos mean something to me, wether they are for my mom or lyrics to one of my favorite songs. I got this one a while back, only cost me $20 no one thought i would do it. This was a dumb one but no one will ever know its there unless i show it to them, I am only 19 and have over $2k in tattoos.

1) UV tats....Done in the invisible ink only shows when you are under a dark light.

2) Pig's Blood.....Or some type of blood that when tat'ed with when you angry or your body temp...or maybe i think adrenaline or some then it shows up in red other wise it stays unseen.
