Trade in your HD DVD Player for a Blue Ray

Circuit City has secretly announced that they will let customers who purchased a HD DVD player, return it to the store towards the purchase of a Blu-Ray player, if it was purchased within the last 90 days. For some this will be great, for others with no receipt, you are SOL. I found this to be a pretty good deal for people who are upset at the announcement of the fall of HD. Take advantage of this, as it is not something that they HAVE to do.

Unfortunitely Chad, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A RECEIPT.

The issue that you are having is the main reason why they have put down a firm hand saying that customers must have a receipt. You can return anything with a receipt even after it's opened unless it's a video game, CD, DVD, or other disc media. You can always return electronic hardware with a receipt... not sure why this is such big news.

Circuit City is extending their normal 30 day return policy to 90 days for this situation. I dunno what store or what city you are in, but the one here is EXTREMELY FIRM with the return policy.

Just for clarification, you are NOT getting a blu ray player in exchange for an HD dvd player. The only thing that has changed is the return policy in regards to HD DVD players, which was already mentioned by Qbenjamin, is being extended to 90 days.

Any more questions/concerns about circuit city policy should be addressed by a circuit city employee, and not by some random website...

Because it makes customers happy...plus we can just return them defective and they end up going back to the manufacturer and we don't lose money on it anyway.
