Don't use BitComet...it's a cheater client. Well, I guess you could use it if you wanted to, but you may encounter problems on some sites as it is frequently a banned client (because it cheats).

Azureus, uTorrent, and Transmission are the most popular and most widely accepted clients out there, in my opinion.

For sites....private is where it is at. If not, I like MiniNova or one of the sites that compiles results.

No idea what that means to me. I use it cause I can DL at 700+kbps vs. utorrents 200kbps. I can also right click anything in firefox and download it faster with bitcomet then any normal site...including major sites.

Demonoid was only really semi-private as they opened registrations quite frequently.

There are still a ton that are open and new ones are opened all the time.
