torn spiders?

You find it hard to believe because you don't understand what power is nor where it comes from. You also don't know how amp distortion levels are rated.
ummm ok? shure thing!

Umm... the larger the enclosure, the LESS emphasized the upper and midbass regions are. The SMALLER the enclosure, the less low end and more upper end bass you will receive.
ok i guess thats why my lows were louder in the last box i had the 10's in which was undersized.. actually 2 separate undersized boxes... and now in the over sized box the 20-30's barely get louder than the mids (exadgeration)

It's the truth. I'm sure (yes, sure is spelled s-u-r-e) that you had a different experience just to prove me wrong though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Would you like to explain to me how a smaller enclosure increases low end efficiency without out pulling shit out of your *** and expecting me and others to believe it? I know that I could prove otherwise. (heres the part where you scramble to prove me wrong and find that what I say is backed up by physics and by all the websites you have referred to in the past to try to prove me wrong)

Oh, was this old box before or after the 13w6?

As with any other thread started by the OP (and the inevitable argument showing how naive he truly is about all things car audio related) this has been an entertaining read.

Thanks, cot!

... it has been said ... could be ... but probably causeing ...
...i think i should be able ... i find it very hard to believe ...i should be reaching 1600 no prob.
i couldnt resist.

i think, i find, probably -

i know that you have no idea what you are talking about. you are making assumptions that you can not back up with numbers.

thats why your shit keeps breaking.

Like his claim of JL amps making 185% of their rated power being fact?!?

thats why your shit keeps breaking.

That's all that can really be said here.

Give up on CA dude. I have been wrong before and people have corrected my mistakes. What do you think I did, ***** about it? I took the knowledge that I gained and moved on with it. This is something that you must not have the ability to do.

i tried to help this dude like 4 seperate times, i even offered him to come down to fayetteville to help him correctly set his gains and all he does is ignore and keep ranting on what he thinks he knows
It's fairly widespread knowledge at this point that the amount cotjones actually knows is significantly different from what cotjones thinks he knows though he is more than happy to argue a failed point until the cows come home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I tried to be nice in one of his other threads and he tried to pick apart the correct information by taking what I said completely out of context and trying to correct me. I guess he knew more than me and only asked because he wanted to see what I knew. He can't admit when he's wrong and would never ask anybody else for help because he would have to swallow his pride.

no actually i believe you are right and normally it does improve upper-base to have a smaller enclosure but it didn't for me... that was the reason i changed the design... now i am definity not shure about this but i do have a theory why...

so keep in mind i am saying i DO NOT know this i am specualating...

take one sub... in a small enclosure there is more pressure on the cone makeing the cone have a easy time going at a high frequecy because the pressure makes the sub want to go back to the "0" excursion point faster... at lower frequecy you want it to return slower so less pressure on the cone is needed for better responce... so with one sub the only factor is the pressure inside the box...

now add a sub... this adds to the pressure inside yes you double the airspace but it still has more force on each cone... because now pressure is resisting the cones instead of only resisting the enclosure.... now with 4 of them that pressure is even greater... does that make sence? if not i'm clueless as to why... but i know the low lows **** for those 10's i don't have to be a genius in car audio to know it either

kinda like the effect of a passive radiator on the airspace

i have only blown 1 sub in my life and fried 1 amp... my stuff doesn't break

i don't need help setting gains but thank anyway

ok thats why i started this thread i asked a question and got a possiblity i KNEW to be wrong

What else changed in the design of the new enclosure? Firing plane? Position? Bracing? Those variables can be just as important as the enclosure volume. What was the past volume? I'm assuming the new volume is in your sig?

If none of these things changed, and even if they did, it might be worth your time to check this idea out:

One of your subs could be wired out of phase from the others. Take a 9v battery to your final wiring terminal and see if all the subs move the same direction. Look for one to be off or in a different direction. Also, one of your subs could have become disconnected and would be acting like a passive radiator for the others. This would make the enclosure tuned pretty high and destroy the low end.

So you blew someone elses sub and amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif :crap: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
