I had a 15" CVX and it was a loud sub, I was pretty impressed with.

Let me rephrase that. The DC will be louder in the proper enclosure with the recommended power. Nothing wrong with the CVX, it will get loud to.

CVX are quality subs for sure, but in a lvl4 you have essentially a high output spl sub...not to mention increase in cone area

Id make a bet that those cvx's can compete easily with a dc lvl 4

yes. a level 4 10 would **** all over any kicker cvx any day. probably any kicker woofer ever made. the solo x may be able to keep up but other than that no.

edit: provided you have enough power and the correct enclosure.
