torn between sub amps

i just read the entire "which is better profile or macintosh amps" and ive been having a discussion with my dad whos an electrical engineer. after everything ive talked and read, the only thing i can gather is that cheap amps have more variance in output from amp to amp, and the better amps deal with heat related problems better. am i missing anything? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

mcintosh amps are very high quality

profile is something you will find at swap meets or pawn shops

thy cant even be compared to eachother

its more than that apparently. based on pure electrical theory, and my dad not knowing a good amp name from a bad, these are the deal breakers that i mentioned in my above post. its really riveting to try to make sense out of it. i know what many peole will say but i know my dad's ability to calculate his own conclusions. im torn. lol

mcintosh amps sell for upwards of 4k that are for very high SQ
