I was considering going with the Rainbow cs 275's. I've been away from this forum for a while and have no idea on what are considered the "top brands" nowadays. Any other suggestions to look at/listen to?

Also, what are some good 6x9's to compliment the rear?

if rear's are a must, just use stock 6x9's. i really liked my boston acoustics...

I am about to order a set of Rainbow SLC 265 from 6spdcoupe. I was going to order a set of CDT EF-61 but decided on the Rainbow set instead.

The CS 275s are a great choice. Solid midbass complimented by a hard to beat CAL27 Silk VOF tweet. Unless your referring to the CS275 Platinums, then umm..Yummy. Bang for the buck I havent come across a more detailed/better sounding tweet that the CAL28. Although I must admit Im jealous...I wish I had that kinda money to dish out for a comp set when I was 17.
