hmm, ill have to check out saving private ryan and black hawk down. I like war movies. I have full metal jacket HD and didnt look any different.

That is because they just transfered it over to blu ray from DVD and marketed it as "high def blu ray" when it is the same as an upscaled DVD, pretty much.

I have had a ps3 for about a year now...any cartoon movie will be off the chain as far as picture quality...any movie made pre-hd will look like a dvd...i got the 5 free blue rays with my ps3 and most of them were older movies and they look about the same as if i ran a dvd threw my 1080 upconvert dvd player

Horton Hears a Who has been the most impressive for me (I got my blu-ray player for xmas), so I haven't watched many. I will be getting Planet Earth soon tho...

Cars is unreal, it looks sick... The Dark Knight, Casino Royale, the Band of Brothers series makes you feel like you're a part of Easy Company... Transformers, if for no other reason than to drool over Megan Fox's sweet sweet body. The Matrix, Bourne... All good isht.

i forgot the rest but bought it for my brother in law. we still need to watch it on the blue ray though
