so i got my 2 18" re mt's.... I was origonally gonna build a wall but if i can get around it i might do that.. haha.... i have a 93 subaru impreza hatchback so i have some space... if i do subs up port back with around 14 cubes. do you think thats enough?? or should i do the wall and get it at like 18 cubes??? if the smaller box will work and still let me get around 150's on music than ill do that.. .what do you guys think???????????????? ( dual 4 ohm subs wired to 1 ohm into a autotek mm4000)

14 cubes net will be fine at 35hz with a lot of port area (200). You may even end up

with close to 18 gross. or you could do four 6" areo tubes and save some space.

yea... i wanted to try aeroports sometime.. maybe i should.. if i have both subs up and aeroports back in a box roughly 14 cubes with the 4 6" aeros, would that be ok? or could i make the box even smaller like 12 or 13 cubes??? and how long would those ports have to be to get me tuned at like 35 hertz??

Whats the max box size if you figure you want the box speakers pointed up, with at least 8" of clearance to the roof. In addition, factor in 8" of clearance from the back of the box to the rear hatch, without obstruction by the box itself in terms of airflow from the back up to the roofline (in other words if the hatch were angled forward) . Now what are those dimensions?

i havent done extreme measurements like that... but its difficult.. the part of the box my subs would be placed on would be technically in my back seats ( only no seats are there)...the second half of the box would have to connect with the upper box due to the width change from my back seats to the actual trunk/hatch area.... up front i can go as wide as 42", in the hatch area as wide as 34" and from the back of my driver seat to the rear hatch i could got maxximum of like 36" .. thats all with a little bit of clearance.. the heigth would be around 22" to be safe ( obviously i can go higher but thats just for some extra clearance... ) basically my design would make a T shaped box. if you can picture that.

Easy to measure as 2 regular rectangle boxes. Unless I'm missing something.

well i kknow its easy.. here are the demensions then... 1st box (goes in back seat)...42" wide x21" tall x22" deep = 9.36 cubic ft... 2nd half of box is 34" wide x 21" tall x20" deep = 6.7 cubic feet... total is a little over 16 cubes.. but thats without displacement... so if i do aeroports some of the port will have to be in the box and the rest on the out side (if i can even do that..) lol....

Oh man you got plenty of room. Areoports will save a lot of space. The woofers displace .25 each. Do these measurements reflect some room for the port outlets to breath before it hits the back hatch, if so how much?

maybe... those measurements though will basically take up most of the room...... like depth goes from my back seats almost to the back hatch... the hatch part though is slanted towards the front of the car so the depth at the bottom actually has more room from the box to the actual hatch... make sense??? so the ports could be on the bottom of the box firing backwards... so probably an extra 5" so the ports would more than likely have to be inside the box...
