Too skeptical of buyers on craigslist....

I posted up my bike yesterday on craigslist and had two almost imediate responses. The fist emails seemed normal just asking if the item was still for sale and all. I told them both it was for sale because i just posted the item that day.

I got a reply from both and here they are:

Hello,Glad to read from you. I'm really interested in your Item but i'm

so sorry as i won't be able to come for a look as i'm the busy type.

Well, i'll keep in touch with my financier to mail a cheque for the

amount you're requesting and will have a shipping company to come for

the pick up as soon as you confirm to me that you receive the cheque

and it clears your bank. If this arrangement is acceptable, pls get

back to me with your name as it will appear on the cheque and your

contact address that the cheque will be mail to along with your cell

#. Please write back as soon as possible so we can proceed.

I'll be picking the item from you, the Freight and handling fee will be added to the money for the Item. My Mover will be coming to Pick it from you once the Certified Check has been cashed. Both said they cant visit in person because they are busy and the grammar seems a little off. I replied asking for personal phone numbers so i can discuss everything in person with them. Is it possible or likely that someone will actually talk with me in person and still send out a fake check? I have been warned about people who send out fake checks and the fraud gets put on the person who attempts to cash it so what do you guys think will happen?? I think they are both frauds.

Craigslist says right on the site to only do face to face transactions 99% change both of those are emails from scammers. If you deposit a bad check you may be charged a fee from your bank.

thanks guys that is what i thought. shit i wish it were that easy though... post up an item and have someone the next day ready to send the check for the amount you ask..... should i go ahead and give both of them my adress and stuff just so i can have two fake checks to show people??? haha i wouldnt cash either of them, but it would be kind of cool to show people no?

oh i read and searched... i even stated in my original post that i read and believed both were scams...... i just wanted some attention... can i not get a little attention??

I did a deal on Craiglist that wasnt local, picked up a RF 25 to Life Punch 150 for $30 shipped. However me and the seller exchanged several emails and texts, was a stand up dude.

To the op, both of these look fake, disregard them both.

I wouldn't give them your address at all.

I would give them a work address, and then when you get the "checques" forward them and all information to the police and the IC3...
