too much port area?

I'm bilding a box that is 6.2 cuft after displacement that will have 129.5 sqin of prt. Is that too much or is there anything such as too much?

There is a thing as too much. It is sub and application dependant IMO. But you should be fine.

I'll be running 2-15" fi bl off a dd z1. Its going in a grand cherokee. Port will be tuned to about 33Hz.

Personally, Id stick with around 80 sq inches. You dont need a ton of port to be loud.

What adverse effect would a larger port have? With the room i have to work with it's hard to design a box with the right tuning and airspace for these speakers. Or if someone could design me a center port box. Max dimensions are 40" wide 27" deep and 20" tall. I want tuning around 32-33.

It's a little much, but it should work out fine. But you need more volume!

Any kind of "rule of thumb" for that? like how much should be used with a 15" One-Way 22 mm VS. 12" One-Way 4mm?

usual rule is 12-16sq in per cubic ft of box your going to use

you should be fine, but it would hurt to bring it down to say 90sq in or so

also, you cant get any more room out of the deminisons ? (havnt looked at them)

i would do 4cubes apiece and then you could run 130sq in if you wanted, just seems like a small box for 2 15s
