Those PRs are ok. Rated 250w, they are probably ok for 350 or 400w. About 10 years ago i had a pr15 on a 400w jensen amp. Was decent for what it was
I threw it on my s1500 when I got home to make sure it was all good and it was taking probably around 400w pretty well. I didn't realize the box was tuned so high until I took the sub out later. I did the math and it's 53hz. I was testing it on a Kendrick Lamar song that is easily low 30s and it wasn't really bottoming out. I think it should take some power sealed. But since it is 4ohm, none of the amps I have for it can give it more than 300, so I may have to keep shopping for a little sub. I was really wanting to run the sundown for this build, but the RF makes more power at 4ohm I think if I get stuck with a 4ohm sub. Those PRs are ok. Rated 250w, they are probably ok for 350 or 400w. Jensen ftw lol. Well maybe I'll try it. I might throw a quick sealed box together if it doesn't sell. I'm really aiming for a 10 for this application because if I find a sub that I like I'm going to fiberglass it into a wheel well and idk if I can fit any 12s in that application. But who knows, she may want to rock the 12 lolMight not take much more than 200w tho to get it moving.
Im sure my jensen back then was like 100wrms lol
No man, but they seem similar. These are older.
Here are some videos of the., a the pictures I find are on photo bucket and I can't see them after I click them.
That's a good point. One of my buddies is coming to check it out tonight so I wouldn't mind helping him out and letting him take it, but if he doesn't I'll probably keep it. It was $25. And I'm sure I can sell the horrible pre fab for 10-20 and get my money back. I told my buddy I won't sell him the box because it's junk and I wouldn't want him to have itHonestly I would keep it but that's just me. It's an older version of the subs I had, they have a good sized motor and a lightweight moving mass so it takes very little power to get it moving good.
no wonder this guy finds awesome deals!! good karma definitely comes back to some people it seems!I told my buddy I won't sell him the box because it's junk and I wouldn't want him to have it
thats fair enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWell I'll sell it to a stranger lol
That's what I do, if I find a decent sub for a good price, I buy the sub, sell off whatever crappy box it came with and I throw together a decent ported box for as cheap as possible (usually single layer mdf, pvc port and wooden dowel bracing) and if my friends don't want it, I relist it and at the minimum break even but often come out ahead because of the added value of the custom box. The whole story with those Memphis PR's I had went like this: bought subs and prefab ported box on CL for $60, one sub was missing the dustcap, I sold it and the box and recouped $40 then built a box for the remaining sub and paired it with a Diamond 300w mono that I had sitting around from a trade on a half blown Alpine Type X 12 ($20 investment) and traded the sub/box/amp for 2 L7 10s which I sold for $225. I turned ~$80 into $265 over a month or so barely trying on a small side hustle. I love this hobby lol.I told my buddy I won't sell him the box because it's junk and I wouldn't want him to have it
Yeah man I definitely keep my eyes peeled because people don't know what they have. I especially buy cheap kickers and stuff because I know they will sell. Usually I just end up with stuff if I have to buy things in a package for the one thing I want. Nice, I love when it's a win win for the buyer and my pocket lol.Yeah man I definitely keep my eyes peeled because people don't know what they have. I already sold the sub and box for $40, so that essentially made that amp only $60.
