Toby Speakers?

I've had 2 people come in, in the past two days asking for Toby speakers. Never heard of them and all i've found is their shitty little website. Any info???

Anyways......that shitty little website is about it. Supposedly their enclosed systems get pretty loud for the money.

All you need is confidence. Next time someone comes in asking for them, just spew them a little BS like you know all about the Toby speakers and up-sell them something from your store.

"Yeah, those Toby's are okay....but these here XXXXX subwoofers sound better and get louder. You should really consider these instead."

In a mirror universe, Toby Speakers are all the rage in karaudio.com's forums. One of the members makes tkab boxes for them, and is hitting 160db+ with a single 8" with 90 watts. People are complaining that he's too **** nice, the boxes are too inexpensive, and that he should stop using mohogany wood and start working with cardboard to up his profit margin.

Of course, hating has ensued as a result of Toby speaker's success, with many members proclaiming they are 'teh gay" and that ZE Audio's ZZZ subs will blow them out of the water.

I know this is a 5 year old topic but hey it comes up on the first page of google so I thought I might put in a word for us. A simple search of "Toby Speakers" brings up our website Toby Corporation of America

Toby has been in business since 1968 and you might do well to take a listen if you're in the area sometime. We build mainly our own Bandpass enclosures using proprietary drivers and our own unique method for achieving outstanding results usually in a very efficient design. We also build/design/manufacture home theater and high quality stereo speaker systems. We also allow people to try our boxes in car if they already have an amp installe. Don't knock it till you've heard it.

I heard a "small" Toby bandpass in the late 90's and it was awesome. I don't even like bandpass enclosures.

the guy fixed my crossover for 50cents
