to those with degrees in business...

Look, my parents own a retail store selling electronics. They pay their employees better-than-average wage for their area. They hire non-college-educated folks off the street and pay them around $8.50/hr starting wage (believe it, this IS better than most places around there). They also pay well in bonuses for sales after 30 days.
no, 8.50/hr isnt anywhere NEAR better than most places around tulsa, ok. (im from OKC, BTW) average shit job pay aound here is about $10...

Ill make sure to tell my employees this:rolleyes:
I'll do the same, a few of my uneducated (no college or dropout) coworkers and I that pull down good money while sitting on our butts might have to move into manual labor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

uh yea it does. two examples.

gas prices. east coast 2-3$ west coast 4-5$

property.

east coast home for $100,000

same home on west coast - $500,000+

the value of the dollar doesnt change. but i hear everything out west is way more expensive

MBA...100K

I work in finance...best way to make a good salary is to manage other people's money.

Just remember that regardless of what you do in life...no one can take education away from you.

The first incorrect assumption you made is that you have any clue where my parents' business is located. Since I didn't mention where, you have no idea, thus you can't make comparisons to your market.

The second problem with your allusion that they don't pay very well is that you didn't read how much their employees make in bonuses (or chose to ignore it). $12-15/hr is not chump change at all, and anything over $10/hr is pretty **** good for someone sitting on their *** all day in an air conditioned shop when they have no education besides high school.

your not going to get a job that pays real well unless you concentrate your major. If you do a regular business admin degree your screwed and sitting around 30-40k depending where you live. Focus on taxation, or financial planning or something of the sort and you can jump up to about 80k with a masters.
I agree with this. You want a technical degree that shows you have skills. Business Degrees are pointless without experience. Anybody can do a business job, just throw people at the problem, market is saturated with these people with qualifications. With a technical degree, you can some day innovate something to make life a little easier on someone else and get payed for your research!
