To Seal, or to Port? That is the question.

Port it deffinately. I'd say low 30's high 20's. I've got 2 in my Xtracab and its the best **** sound I've heard in years. Port it you won't be sorry.

right now i have my 15xxx in a temporary sealed box and im disappointed b/c it doesn't go low at all. like when i try to play a song like 'get low' it sounds really loud on 1 note while the really low note there's no sound. i think it's b/c it's a sealed box, but im not sure. im eventually going to put it in a ported box, but is the sealed box the reason it doesn't go that low?

The box could be too small. How big your current sealed box?

Also how old is the sub and which direction is the box facing and in what type of car?

sub is brand new, it's about a 1.75cuft sealed and it's facing the back of the car like 6" from the back. im guessing the box is too small for it.

Yeah....way too small, which is why it isn't getting low.

ok, thanks. i was wondering why it didn't get low. well it's just a temp box until i get my ported box. how does 4cuft after port/sub displacement @ 30hz?
