the only reason i ask is becuse i know that jl subs are under rated becuse i have seen a piar of 13 w1v2's being run off a 1000/1 at 3/4 of the way up

500-800 rms is pretty much ideal depending alot on amp and enclosure...

3/4 the way up doesnt tell us anything as to what it was fed. the gain is not a volume control.. doesnt work that way.

i dont think the W7 can do much more than what its rated... the w3 and w6 on the other hand, ive seen people run close to twice its rated power

so id say 900 at the very most for a 12w7.. and thats with the gains set properly

why would you risk it

if it doesn't get loud enough off 750, buy a different sub

it might take 900+ for 6 months or a year, then poof, no more worky

run 3 JL 12w7's off your 1650 rms and you will be fine.

or just do 1 and take a nice hit to the wallet when it goes poof.. either way

I bet it'll be just fine. Set your gain correctly and be careful on real bass heavy songs... other than that, wang away.

well the amp was gonna be a ma audio hk802sx and at 3 ohms it would be putting out around 1650 rms but i know that these amps dont do what they are rated at so i was thinkin it would me more like 1400-1500 out of it.
