so my rear projection flat screen crapped out last week....absolutly devestating...not worth paying like 400-500 to get it fixed.

i'm looking at this 65in toshiba dlp 1080p nice *** tv with 2 years of warranty left on it for $900 off craigslist. comes with the matching stand. i can get my credit card company to transfer funds to my bank account to pay the tv in cash, and then i'll have no interest on that $900 balance until july 2009. so pretty much an extra $150 a month for 6 months and i wont incure any interest....and even if i get behind on payments (which i normally never do) after july 2009 the interest rate will be like 10%, which still isnt bad even if i only have a two or three hundred left to pay....$150 a month for 6 months, i think its within reason for my budget.

already talked to the seller. guys moving up to new york and doesnt want to pay $500+ to ship it. im heading over to his place tonight to check out the tv.

think i'm gonna do it....just gotta wait a few days for the funds to transfer and clear.

$900 for a DLP seems expensive. I have a high end mitsubishi 52" DLP and about $4-500) is what I was going to get on mine so I just decided to keep it instead of selling and adding $1500 to get an LCD.

impulse means you go buy it without asking opinions or really thinking it through. this is the exact opposite of that. so i vote no impulse buy this time.

i guess it isnt technically impulse, but none the less its still a big investment

900 not so good for a dlp? do lcd's have a greater life span than dlp's? will check for reciepts and such. i'll update this later 2nite.

You can get that TV brand new from Vanns for not that much more.
cheapest screen off that sight even close to this was a 60in mitsubishi dlp for $1350 shipped. and i want the 65in. i searched for this model toshiba and cheapest new one i found new was about 1250 + 250 shipping, no extended warranty.

i'm looking at a 65in made in may 2007, purchased a few months ago with an 2 year extended warranty on top of the manufacture (irrc) 1 year warranty.....AND a stand to sit it on for 900.

tv was purchased at circuit city and the guy has the receipt which will be included. i dont recall off the top of my head if the warranty is transferable. even if it is not, lets say it does break... cant he call in the work order to come out to my place and he claim to have bought it for me as a wedding gift or some other excuse? i went over to the seller house and checked it out....it ****ing huge and niiiiiice. i'm already in love with it and 900 isnt too bad. it's already WAY more than i shoudl be spending so i really dont want to go any higher.

Just wait a week, and go day after thanksgiving you can get the panasonic ( top rated tv 52+ inches ) for not much more ...
i agree day after thanksgiving will be a good time to shop around, even then i dotn think i can find a deal sweet as this with the extended warranty for 900.

although circuit city may be going out of business //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif forgot about that
