to cap or not to cap

it could be a bad battery to i know mine did that for the longest time .finaly took the battery in and they said it was bad so i got the biggest battery they had witch was 900ca and put it in and aint had a problem since

I got a second battery but am throwing in a cap to see if it will help level the voltage out more. If it does then it is worth it to me but i have a good alternator and 2 batteries and tons of wire, get there first then thinks of adding a cap. I used to always have one with my amps i use because they are not class D and are pretty power hunger for the watts they put out. I don't have one in right now but maybe this week.

caps are crap, but they sure are pretty with all their colors and paint jobs.

thats one of the reason also I just want a voltage display in the back and it has one. I don't want to throw it away. At 3 farad rating it should be able to hold and discharge about 25 amps and thats not much but i am going to see what difference it makes. i don't care that every one says they are crap they are if you are trying to add only that as a solution to serious problems. I don't have problems but I know a little more constant voltage is easier on my electrical components. If it does even out voltage a little more I will be happy.

What are you running?
just a 500/1 jl audio amp pushing a 10w7

what is the difference between getting a second battery and having a cap....cause wouldnt my alt still have to work to keep my second battery charged as well. so in the end is it the same??? (as you can see im confused on all of this)

Search on how to do the big 3 and do that. Replace your up front battery if you need to as well. Go with a Red or Yellowtop or something similar. I saw no benefit in usinig a cap at all. If gotparts needs one, i have one he can buy as well. a 3 farad Power acoustik. I read my voltages off my HU.
