to buy or, not to buy?

i thought about biulding my own box. all the tools we own are about 300 miles north of us. now i dont know how to calculate cubic feet. these are the dimentions

it will be for an L7. i have a reg cab, i have to take out the console for this to fit.

(WxHxD) 19.25x14.25x16.25.

this is a prted box tuned @ 38Hz.

the min. ported box kicker recommends is 1.75, the max is 3.25.

any opinions on how this should sound? its satifaction gaurenteed(sp) or my money back.

it doesnt list the cubic feet. thats where you guys come in to play.

also: i had a 1 cubic foot selaed box for ths sub and, it sounded like ***, how will this box sound compared to the other sealed one i had?

im looking for ALOT of bass, but still sound good.

well i dont really see any question about buying something but as for the question about the sound that is up to the install. BUT talking in very general terms with that sub the ported should make you ALOT happier then the sealed did.

the question was that what was the cubic feet of the dimensions i listed, but i figured that out. also, would i see a big difference from the sealed to a bigger ported box. also, what would you guys recommend for a size and, tuning freq?

buy my ssd 10..itll handle more power than your L7 will and get louder in a small box. Fi reccomends around 1 cu ft sealed.

What is the brand of the box??? Mine is a BassSlammer box.....sounds like the one you are looking at is the same brand, because mine is for a round 12", it is 20" x 15"x 15"......1.75cu ft. and is tuned to 38Hz. It has tremendous impact and depth........so, Im sure you will be very pleased with your ported box. yea mine is from .88 to 2.0 cubic feet sealed.

to answer the other persons question. its some cheap box i bought from hifisound. they lied, told me its 3/4" MDF, yea right. theres two screws on each corner the rest is brad nailed together. the top frame was cracked, there was gaps in one of the corners. i found out all this by taking the carpet off. it was a 1 cubic foot sealed box.
