To buy or not to buy two 12K's.....

1st off, I have a sealed box that's about 4 ft after displacement.....too much for dual K's? I think the recomend 1-1.2.

If this box is too big sealed, should I port it? I want good sq, how low should I go if I port?

I have an Audiobahn A1300HCX amp. 600x1 @ 2 ohms and 1200x1 @ 1 ohm. Now I've heard some say it's overated. What I'm getting at is, should I run 2 or 1 ohm? I'm guessing 2 ohm with the large enclosure, but I only have a 4 guage wiring kit and if the amp is overated maybe 1 ohm would be ok with low settings on the gain?

I've been salivating over a 15A (hopeing maybe ED will have a deal on them sometime), but that would most likely require a new box. I'd rather keep my current box, but would a 15A be worth the xtra bucks and building another box?

i have 2 12 k's hooked up to a avionixx 800.2. it was an awesome setup. i think i will be puting them back in in the near future. they are worth every penny. the box is not bad. i would port it at about between 25 and 32 hz. mine were at 32 and they sounded beutiful. run the amp at one ohm, make sure you buy the right coils when you order the subs. but thats me, when i would compete. for daily run at two ohms. the 15A would definetly be worth it, worth a little more cash and a little more work. the 12k's are loud though if this is just for daily and not competing.

This is daily and I want SQL, which it looks like both a 15A or dual 12K's would do. Running 2 ohm to my old Kicker C-12's is just way too quite. They only have 7.68 mm xmax, so I figure the 16 mm xmax of the K's would help spl a lot. But I thought it may not make it much louder, that's why I wanted to run 1 ohm.

ahh i dont think id run 2 of the new 12inch k's at 1ohm on that amp 600 a piece is a lil too much for them, id get 2 single 4ohm 12k's and then run it at 2ohms and give each sub around 300 and that would be plenty

id rather give em 600 than 300. Keep the gains down and ull be fine. Although with that box mite be a bit big since ull be running more power. I say either port ur box and run the amp at 2 ohms. Or make a smaller sealed box and run the amp at 1 ohm. I would personally go with sealed and 1 ohm but thats just me i like SQ.

Looks like I'll have a qtc of .577 with my box and .707 with their recomended box (round about). Some say .707 is better, some say .577 is.....things that make ya go hhhmmm....
