You almost have to try to hurt yourself with 12VDC at low amperages, unless you do something patently stupid like work on a live circuit with both hands. But since I don't know the details...

my thoughts exactly.....its not the volts that gets you, it's the current (amps)

your heart can't take much current. high voltage without a lot of current can burn you, but the current is what is most dangerous.
