Can anyone tell me exactly how big these suckers are? Im talking from the bottom of the magnet to the highest part of the sub. I'm looking to buy them, I just need the exact height so I can make sure it won't hit the underneath part of my seat. If anyone can help, that'd be great. Thanks!

Yeah mounting depth is one thing, but I see that the actual cone gasket (correct term?) comes up a little more past the mounting depth in a profile pic. That's what I'm worried about. I'll try e-mailing them, or is there someone on the board that works for SS that I could talk to about it?

give yourself at least and extra 1 1/2" beyond mounting depth. that will give you a safe margine so the cone or surround doesn't hit under the seat when you romp the volume.

the carpet under that seat is a lot more abrasive to the surround than most realize. i've seen several people do their box's so close that the surrounds get chewed up rather fast.

From the lowest point to the highest point (bottom of the magnet to the highest part of the surround), it is 6-1/8in.

I knew they made two different types, I must have the low surround version.

yeah, i actually own the very first one sold to the public. but they changed the surround right after they sold out the first time, or something like that.

more then likely, any rl-i the OP gets will be similiar to yours though as i believe the first gens are fairly rare.
