To any who claim that fatmat doesnt stick...

Hmmm, you sound a bit childish to be offering beers to anyone. Also, some people thinki post count makes a difference, others don't. I personally don't think it means squat, but when you come and make statements as you do, I can see why people associate new post counts with someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Also, have you used other products? And tell me how is Second Skin or even Raammaat a "boner" product? Have you ever thought that it is popular because it is a good product?

You can make all your claims, but without pics, your word means nothing. You don't need a digital camera, a cell phone will do. And don't tell me yours doesn't have a camera because for over the past 5 years cell phones have been coming with cameras.

You can keep making the statements you have made, but many people, including myself, have used a VARIETY of deadener products...enough to know what the differences are, what works better. This is first hand experience, not going off what another person says. You really need to quit boasting a product when you have no idea how it compares to others. Spending a little more IS worth it sometimes.

When it comes to deadener, I won't go the cheap route. I've helped people put some deadener using cheaper products, like eDead and Fatmat and in my vehicle I have used some Dyanamat Xtreme, Raammat and Second Skin. I can tell you the first two are garbage. Peel n' seal does as good of a job as those two. I actually prefer Raammat over Dynamat Xtreme, because it is easier to use and it is also cheaper. Second Skin takes the cake because it applies the best and works damn well. It's a little pricier than Raammat but I would still buy it.

Before you try and ramble on how one product is better than another, why don't you try using the other products first. Stop trying to put a name out for something that people know is not worth it. Now, if Fatmat comes out with an improved product, that changes everything. Till then, go back and hide in that little hole under the bridge your reside in....troll.

Even my grandparents have a digital camera. You get them in crackerjack boxes now. Its 2009. What's your excuse again? How about you borrow one of your more technologically savvy friend's digi cam. Let me guess, you'll just give us more hot air, and never a pic.

Cotton candy super glued to my door panels would stay stuck too, does that mean it works great?

I could easily convince all my friends that super glued cotton candy is the shiznit, does that make it work well?

Anyone with a post count between 320 and 350 must surely be impotent.

I had my ***** supermodel *** slave type this reply out for me.

A quality FatMat install? HA!!

That's like finding a high quality Pyramid SQ amp.

No pics = FAIL!!

oh and back to don pisto.... blah blah blah blah blah i do find post count funny cause the amount of psots you personally have it would take 41 + hours to complete if you had only spent 30 seconds for each post back to back... of course I'm starting to feel like a douche since i have 300 posts... That gives me a clue to stop wasting my time on net kids...

I read your posts, they're all crap. So what's your point? Again, you didn't respond as to why you can't take pictures, what are you, 12?

BTW, do you even know how to do math? Have you even THOUGHT about learning it? I have been a member of this forum since June 2006, which is about 2 and a half years. To make things simpler for you, here's a picture.

See where it says posts per day? Yeah, 4.85 posts per day means I have so little of a life. Those posts don't even take up more than 10 minute if you think about it.

You're such an imbecile (it means idiot, so you don't have to use Google) that nobody is going to take what you say seriously. You're better off never posting again and creating a new username and never mentioning Fatmat again.

Are you done crying cause not everyone wants to fit in ? I obviously do know how to do math. I answered all questions i needed to answer. come on up to sac cry baby and see the fat mat work its wonders....

ya know, god forbid anyone tell the honest to god truth about their experience with a product. Oh no i made such bold claims like "fatmat does stick" and "it does what it says it does" Cause well it does.... get a life dood. Stop spending every day of your life making 5+ posts on a website. If i were not to make this one thread i would have even less of a post count! and one more word just for you **** rider....

fatmat!!! - only loved cause so many hate it... i may even take a roll to bed with me tonight... well probably not it would stick to everything!!!

I'm 2 1/2 hours from Sac, i will be more than happy to drive north to inspect your FatMat installs and while im there I will give you a demo of a 3300wrms Zapco powered and Second Skinned install. Then and only then will we know if your "gear" is equal or better. Want to place any bets? Yes, I am very serious. Put you money where your...........you get the idea.

Golly gee wilikers. 5 posts a day is a harm to my life taking so much time from it! What will I do? Those 5 posts per day are more like a moment to take my mind off working with GIS and various other mapping software. Grow up, seriously. I'm in no way a nut rider for any product, I just SUPPORT what is good. Just as you support Fat Mat, well I guess that makes you a dick rider, right?

And tell me, exactly how am I crying? I'm just stating how you are completely inept...google that one yourself. The point of deadener is NOT for it to just stick and stay up. And you claim you answered all the questions, so tell us, where are the pictures? Almost 100 posts in this thread and you can't supply ANY photos. You know, sadly, all you are doing is making Fat Mat look worse.

This actually kind of reminds me of the Robot Underground / Patrick thread over on DIYMA.

Either you have a really short attention span, or you think we all do. The "bold claim" you made that got people upset is your assertion that anyone who disagrees with you is merely jumping on a bandwagon and buying over priced and over hyped product. At least our bandwagon is powered by facts, science, and testing. Your anti-bandwagon bandwagon is powered by opinion, slander, and excuses why you refuse to provide even a shred of evidence (pics). So please, spare us the poor little martyr routine.
You seem to think we 'hate' fat mat. We dont hate it, we just know better than to pay for it. But rather than address our experience, facts, and scientific testing, its easier for you to try and blow us all off as just hating on fat mat and poor little you.

Also just did my 00 silverado the last couple days. It worked great and it was only 40-50 out at the time i applied it. I used no heat and only did a quick wipe down of the surfaces with a drop of dawn in a bucket of water... Its sticking great right now I hardly pushed it on as well. Sure didnt waste my time rolling it. I just used the back end of my knife to get in corners and its great! Also... i got my fatmat when ordered this time in a week! so they even speeded up shipping. It also seems to work quite well...

im still loling the stuff works great. just keep on " troll blah blah wahhh buy my expensive crap that i claim is better" so here i am still laughing. sorry i dont fit in and go along with all the boners here... I have no need to feel accepted or to fit in with the bs. I just find it funny when so many people who claim crap and make up 90% of the crap they say find it so important to let something like a product working effect their lives.
Since you are so anxious to share your testing results with us and just want the facts, here's a simple one to try. Get three pieces of identical sheet metal - 12"x12" is ideal. Drill a small hole in the corner of each so you can hang them up. Leave one sheet metal blank just the way it is. Apply a 6" square of FatMat to the second and a 6" square of Dynamat Xtreme, Damplivier, CascadeV-Max or any "boner" product you like to the third. If you don't have any, PM me and I'll send you some.

Hang all of the samples from string and start tapping them with a stick, screwdriver or anything you like. Listen to the resonance. You'll find the FatMat treated sample is all but indistinguishable from the untreated blank. Now hit the "boner" sample. Oh my. Next, start adding 6" FatMat squares to the FatMat blank until you get it to the sound the same as the boner. Never gets there does it? When I've done this, it takes at least 6 times as much FatMat to achieve a reasonable result, but it still isn't as effective as any of the butyl/aluminum foil products. The FatMat will cost more and take many times the work to get close to the same result - and that ignores the reliability issues. Then explain how your position makes sense.

Which is interesting because I think most attribute value to coverage per dollar, which is illusive. As you've said, it's a poor indication of the product's worth.

We could also look at mass per dollar. But we know that mass in an independent variable in damping. Crap, strike two.

We could also look at DLF/ALF figures, but we know that not everyone has them.....and even if they do...skeptics will argue against their validity and reliablity. Strike three.

Where does this leave us? What's the best figure(s) to look at when buying a damping product for the car?

Should we even be paying attention to the pages and pages of anecdotes posted on car audio forums? Rhetorical q's for you Don, but maybe someone reading is starting to get it.

I just find it funny when so many people who claim crap and make up 90% of the crap they say find it so important to let something like a product working effect their lives. Lets do the math on your posts on this site... if you have over 1000 posts you probably have little of a life... I guess a company that makes such a crappy product should of been out of business by now... Yet what? about 8-10 years that i know of they have been around... The customer service has sucked since day one but hey its gotten better... The fact is that to me and most people i have talked to (in real life not cyber banging over) have seen little diff in the quality or effect of the other products on the market. And for all who want pics... buy me a new digi cam and ill be glad to take pics for you. Otherwise my original offer of checking any of the isntalls out any time in sacramento is open... I might even give you a beer or two if your old enough and arent a idiot... I'm glad its having such an effect on your lives though. Our winters get to a low of about high 20's maybe teens once or twice a year but its rare. Our summers get to 120 once every few years usually a high in the year of the mid teens... so we get some hot and cold and its stood up to whatever california had thrown at it... It does what it claims and does in fact stick as the title states...
I have a question for you.

If, in 2 years, your Fatmat melts and falls off, will you report it back to this thread or to the forum in general?

Are you willing to admit you were wrong, if it happens or is that not an option?

What can we expect from you as time goes on?
