To all U.S amp users and owner, need some opinion.

no.

the 4000x was only built for burps. it has no protection circuits at all, a smaller heatsink than a 2000x and not even a gain knob, only a switch between two levels.

i would not use it for daily at all! go with two 2000(X) if it has to be USAmps. and do not run them below specs regarding the impedance. the old strokers dont need much power to get loud, they have a high sensitivity. around 1000watts a stroker will be fine.

they need an amp that has a good control over them. USAmps will be fine, also Zapco and other amps with much control. they do not like digital amps at all.

by the way, box has to be large and ported or give Okis "universalbandpass" a try, nice box for a 15" stroker but rather big.

i would love to have 2 2000 but cant get them, what about if i run it on stereo 2 subs on each channel wired @ 2Ohms? and get an internal and external fan on it? Hopefully i'll be runing a 300amp alternator and 3 yellow tops....

I have an old USA 200 I'd like to sell. It's never had power or been mounted. It's purple and is stable to 1 ohm stereo. Supposed to do a little over 1K rms.

I'd really love to keep it but I need some money now.

Scott.

a 4000x will not be cheap and you can get other amps for the money that will do the job.

i would not recommend a 4000x for daily. it was built only for burps.

maybe you could ask usamps technical support about your plans.

Get a couple of VLX-400's if you can get your hands on them.

There is a nw AX series sub that puts out over 4k watts that they have on their new line if I remember correctly. Get ahold of Flakko and see if he can get you some details and/or prices. That'll be new so it'll have a warranty and stuff.

go for 2 strokers @ usamps 2000(x) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

or maybe chance the woofers, too.

i had a oldschool stroker 15" years ago and now go with DD. strokers are good subs but DD has woofers that are up-to-date. take much more power, more throw and therefore more output. there are a lot of other good, loud subs, too.

VegaS10 on termpro had three 4000xs in his driver....I think he still has two of them in it. He was running one per DD 9515 and one for his comps....He's had it in for a couple of years with no problems. So as far as saying "they were built for burps only", I think it depends on the user and the install. It CAN be done though.
