To All Tacoma Owners Help

Currently have a Alpine Type R 15 " driver. I want to build a vented box for it. I need to know how to face the the sub ( forward or up to the roof )and where the port placement should be. What also works best for SPL in terms of air space......

I would face the sub at the floor if using only 1. port placement shouldn't make a hug differnce but in all techincality, I would face it the same direction; just make sure it has enough room to breath.

ps. your roof is going to rattle like a mother!!

For me, I found sub facing forward was better than up at the ceiling. I never tried boxes with different port locations though, the port was always in the same direction as the sub. I drive an '00 xtracab. Can't really help you with the airspace, but there are plenty of people here with experience with the type-r.

what space would i need to make the sub face down w the port, and would a reverse sub setup work or would u hear motor noise......

I had a tacoma

I guess this must be a common flaw with tacoma's. I had a 91 before they officially became the tacoma, and now I have an 06 doublecab. I don't even have a system in the new one yet, and it's bad, just off the 6x9s in the front doors. I can't believe what it's going to be like with 2 10s behind the back seat. Good thing I'm dampening the crap out of the roof.
