To all computer techs, your input is needed

Maybe thats what I should do, just cram and pump out cert tests. Then i'll be super-duper-IT-guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
lol I know plenty of guys that do it. When I worked at firedog as lead tech there was sales guy that had his CCNA but couldn't tell me shit about computers or even how to setup a wireless home network //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

We have an indian here who is a sysadmin and knows jack shit about what he is actually doing, the only thing he is really good at is playing solitare.

Like I said though companies are catching on and having experience is now more important than getting any cert, the days of now knowing shit and pumping out some certs to land a job are fading and unfortunately leaving the field flooded with idiots.

In my experience, companies do not hire Network Admins right out of school. They breed them up from the help desk.
Now, programmers are a completely different story.
Hell yeah. Thats where the money is. Get into SQL if you have the right mindset to be a programmer, I don't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif fucking A.D.D

im me at reimermatt on aim the same if you have yahoo messenger we can talk about it and can help guide you to what you want to do.

You are going in the right direction just would like to talk to you before you dump a lot of money and may make some mistakes.

I have been a PC hardware tech since '95 and I can attest that not only can trained monkeys do the job, but some untrained monkeys as well make the cut.

For real though, real world experience is CRITICAL to making real dough long term. Your first problem is that you have no idea which courses to take because you have never likely done anything related to any of these courses. If you have never built a PC, written ANY code, programmed ANY router, have any idea what an IP address really is, know what DNS or DHCP are, then you should consider another field of industry. Sorry.
