infinity and MB quart speakers are more bright and some would call the tweeters of the infinities "harsh". JL has great speakers but i think you can find better for the money you dish out for them. check into CDT/Diamond Audio/beyma/dls etc.

Boston pro 60 are nice, I like mine over my mbq reference. Check out rainbow, hertz and the pioneer 720. I would go and listen to as many sets as you can, this will narrow down what sound you like. Without stating a price its hard to give specifics but these manufactures have different priced lines and should give you a rough start.

I love my Pioneer Premier 720c's, Not overly pricey, actually cheap, which amazes me everytime I turn my stereo on. I have had 500 dollar sets and paid 120 for these and just is a mind fawk! One of my favorites and trust me, I have dumped some dough into some componets from over the years.
