well I have been sitting here board and on vicoden? anyways I got out my dremel tool and was looking at some real crossbows when I realized with a longer screw and three consecutively shorter spring steel bows and a custom braided stainless steel nylon coated bow string (from a fishing leader) I was able to increase the power of this thing to were it's hard to draw and scary to load but a blast to shoot!

here ya go if you look you can see were I used wound black string then hit it with a dot of super thin CA glue to make the bow string then the three progressive springs behind the main bow, next I'm going to the hobby store for some carbon fiber rod to make my own arrows and I have some razors to make the heads, I just have to figure out the fletching?

I'll just hang on to my case of 12 ga flechettes....they look just like the one you show...except it shoots 20 of the bastards at a time with an effective incapacitating hit range of 275 yds....lol
cool toy though....anytime I spare an extra $70, I usually just go down and pick up a couple more boxes of .45 ammo from the local pawn man.

You should probably get in touch with the military then. They stopped using flechette rounds in personal weapons years ago due to the incredible ineffectiveness of them past 100 yds.
