MTX....listen man....you are in ny, there aren't alot of tinters up there cause its not really hot up there and therefore the demand is less...any tinters you do find are probably the only ones around for miles, so they know they have you by the balls and they charge more, alot more than when you come down to the south where there is 15 tinters within 5 miles of each other. i wouldn't be surprised if you got charged 200 bucks for your car that i would do all day here in florida for 100. oh and you guys paying 80 for your front two windows to match your factory tint in the back , i do those for 40 for both 60 with the front strip and in less than thirty minutes.
god i need to do a tinting 101 thread.............most of you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to tint

i did 20% all around and i got pulled over 2 months after i did it. I want to tint my windshield but it's illegal completely

i had 2% on all windows except windshield for a long time, but around here cops are cracking down on it. 3 tickets later i now got 20% on the fronts and 1% everywhere else. best bet is to check the law and then you can go about 10% lighter and you should be ok. 3M Tint is some of the best stuff. I paid $50 for all the tint and installed myself

5% all the way around + a visor strip on a 2004 Blazer ZR2, cost me $215. I got stopped and got a ticket so I had the front 2 windows redone legal, don't remember what it cost, I stripped them myself though...that was a blast..

I get stopped from time to time..........granted it is only the one county who screws with me, and I have 20% all around my car, but looks darker because it is a black car.

I say if they are strict on the shit, then don't go ligther than 20%. I feel if mine was much darker, they would write me up! I have been pulled over 3 times in the last 2 months going to visit my mom. I have it down to a science now........I think. If nice out, roll them all down, lol! If not, take the back roads........if I still get stopped, ask the baby to cry on cue, lawl! Seems to work thus far.

i had 30% done on the back and rear windows, and 35% on the front 2

this cost 210 in Minnesota. pulled over once by a ***** *** woman cop. my tint isnt even dark, you can easily see what i'm doing unless its super cloudy outside. /rant

Never could understand why people tint their windshield so dark.

When I had my cavalier at 5% with a 20% strip that came down too far on the front windshield, I couldn't see shit and I have what is considered very good vision.

2 years with it and no accidents, your sarcasm shows how stupid you are. I don't recommend it if you don't have HID headlights/foglights and live in a desolate area with no street lights.
