Tinsel lead

running my 2 18's(BTL's-1ohm DVC) off 1 amp, running at 1ohm. one of the 18's tinsel lead broke off and is slapping around. will this backfeed into the amp or hurt my amp, and how will it effect the other woofer as its playing and will it change the impedence?

i wouldnt keep playing it...take it out and solder it back on

i'm sure his snapped tinsel is missing a small portion of it. email Fi and ask for some. resoldering a broken lead on a BTL most diffenately will not hold.

i have re-soldered it twice now, i just need to get it reconed, i just wanted to know with the tinsel slapping around is it gonna hurt anything?

If the lead is flopping around that means:

1) One voice coil isn't being powered, so your power handling just got cut drastically.

2) If the lead hits the basket, it will create a short and possibly damage the amplifier.
