tinsel lead slap...

well you hear tapping.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif there are lots of ways to get tinsel slaps:

1. cloth on the cone isn't placed correctly.

2. tensil lead too long

3. and some more ways..

to fix number 2 problem, fold the lead to its shaped like an "L". that should work. if not, then you'll need to cut it shorter and resolder the lead together again. if problem number 1 occurs, just place the cloth at the right place (where the lead is slapping the cone). if the cloth is too small, take it out and get a bigger cloth (if possible).

well i have my SE's in a ported box and i hear like a rattling sound, it sounds like its from my trunk kinda, but then it kinda sounds like its from the subs? I dont know though, is there any easy way to check?

take out the sub. play it free air with the volume know up about 1/2 way (just don't let the sub over-extend itself). if you still hear slapping, hold the tensil lead so it doesnt move. if it does stop, then you have tensil slap. if you take out the sub and it doesn't have that noise, i'm willing ot bet you have air leaks in your box. a lot of time air leaks can be mistaken as tensil slap.

MAYBE some hope! i just remembered while reading a post on air leaks about how the wire hole wasnt sealed with anything, i guess i just forgot. It was that radioshack "flat wire" and i used like just the right drill bit and drilled a bunch of little holes that came together. The wire was a tight fit, but didnt seal itself really. Could this be my problem? I just threw some liquid nails on there so ill know by tommarow, hopefully thats it!

yes..that could be a problem. with a leak that small there will be noises when the sub hits. kind of like port noise. if the port is small enough, you'll get some. in this case, its small, but you don't want to make it bigger (you don't want a mini-port:p ). with that sealed, it should be all good.
