Tinsel Lead Repair?

I tried that but where the lead goes into the cone there was nothing to solder it to. All I could see was plastic.

Could anyone help me out with repairing a tinsel lead? Ive tried to search up on it and no one seems to do it around here. All I need is a quick explaination or website on repairing it. Thanks!
i SHOULD be getting some tinsel leads very soon for my btl. in fact should be here today.

i will most likely be doing a tutorial (time permitted and if i care enough lol) on doing a tinsel repair on subwoofer that has a standard dust cap on it (all Fi subs and lots of other branded subs). it will involve removing the entire tinsel and replacing it.

if you dont want to wait, search for "R.I.P. btl" or something similar. its my thread, but had a link on a different style repair that repairs the tinsel up to the underside of the dustcap.

Is there any way to actually take apart the sub so i can get a better view and solder easier?
just got my tinsel today. just about 5 mins ago.

i will try to make the tutorial tonight, however, it might not apply to your sub.

do you have a dust capt that looks like its glued on? or is it all one piece?
