Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

My T/A looks at distance, rather than time (but, it's all the same anyway I guess).

I don't have equal path lengths on any pair of drivers.

A simple click (.7") of delay can mean the difference between the left combined mono image (only the MB, MR and tweets playing) being at the dash or 3" above it. In my car I level everything out, figure out where phase will get me to the max and then systematically go between and within driver pairs to get everything were it needs to be. Without T/A this is essentially impossible.

So, thank you T/A...you mean so so much to me.

I hear some people take out their measuring tapes when doing time alignment. Not sure what they're doing with it, though... i think.

I never got used to the units that does T/A with distance.

Sorry, but there is sooo much gayness in the lounge that it overflowed and spilled out. Also, the audio discussion section of this forum is my lounge.
Thanks for posting some general basic info about t/a.
I have it, Eclipse 8053, use it and like it. Due to the off-axis response of my XT25 tweets, I don't get the full effect. I plan to re-setup the vehicle soon with new drivers.

Not gay, sorry.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Time adjustment cannot affect that. It can only delay the sound. You need to back up and adjust in the power domain (levels) or EQ (still levels) to get the "full effect." Before that, you'd have to optimize the axis angle (aiming) and/or the placement (path lenghts) if possible. But, I understand the car has it's limitations. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Get those xt25's on-axis and you'll be VERY happy with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

my point is my tweets are too far off axis for me to really like them. I can delay all day long but they just point at each other.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I'm taking measures to fix that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah, if i lean into the field, it's a different experience! I have angled cups made, I just need to install.

They're pretty horrible off-axis as that's how I first had them. Once on-axis they can sound VERY good and get quite loud. Take the time as it's worth the effort...

i never got to install my pair of xt25s in my car on-axis and use Time Alignment on them to stay on topic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
