Thunder 8000 Question

I got my hands on 3 blown MTX Thunder 8000 12"s and 2 of them have plugged pole pieces, but one has an open pole piece..

Aside from the pole pieces they are practically identical. All three are thunder 8000s though which is strange...Maybe different years?

The idea is to re-cone them but the pole pieces are different...Ideas?

Not really looking to pay for labor..Just looking to re-cone them myself..

I mean do you know why one isn't plugged of the same model ? Will it effect anything?

I had a 8104a 10 that didn't have a vented pole and 99 % of all the pictures I found online had vents, so I'd say different model years.

a caped pole will change alot but the biggest is the sen and thermal power handling....
