shold i upgrade os polk 8's to 12-spoke?

ok, so i bought a pair of sa-8 (i think) 12spoke baskets, and have these old school polk 8's and i have to repair them at least. tinsel/terminals and spider on on, likely re-allignment and spider on the other, so i'm thinking about just putting these baskts on while i'm at it. the baskets are drilled to 4-bolt, but the marks are cast there for the correct6-bolt that the polks use, and basket height is good, so i can make it all work just fine. my big question is about whether or not i should change the baskets out. what is on there is stamped "rock" painted, but it is correct origional. they are real old bad azz 8's, and i don't want to downgrade the os if i really shouldn't, but at the same time, i want to upgrade..... more of a moral battle. what do you think? are they even worth enough to fret about it?

I know nothing about building subs and therefore do not know many effects of mixing and matching pieces. All I can say is, it's always nice to have something custom and different. As long as someone else can verify that it's not going to be a downgrade, I say go for it.

bump....yep, i like them..... just have 2 more weeks to decide. don't want to find out that the upgrade is really a "downgrade" for os accuracy reasons, later..... i can always build something else, too....
