Three 6 Mafia - Last 2 Walk

Yeah, but in Mystic Styles they started less party and more about trying to raise their profile.
how the hell do you figure that?!

they JUST started Prophet & Hypnotize when they got up on Mystic Stylez, still doing underground horrorcore music..

they didn't even show any sign of being commercialized until Da Unbreakables. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Were you around Memphis during the early 90s?

negative.

but sir. i've got every release.. down to the volume 1 undergrounds by DJ Paul & Juicy J.. back to the Darkside Click.. to the Criminal Mafia.. to the Backyard Posse.

i'm an avid Memphis 'crunk & buck' / 'evil shit' listener.

& being big in ONE town / state is not commercial. that's underground.

getting tons of radio play.. THAT is commercial.

you EVER heard anything from Mystic Stylez on the radio (besides in Tennessee)?

No. I have never been to any other state for an extended amount of time.

I agree with the unbrakeables comment though. I guess I called it commercial because everyone and their mom was rapping that ship from Mystic Styles...but that was around here...maybe not everywhere. I think that is why I say commerical after Mystic Stylez...

Mainstream, underground, doesn't matter. Three 6 Mafia is the best hip hop group ever, without question. They were the first group to have any kind of flow, and they have stuck with their original style throughout the years. They have continued to put out good songs their entire career, and I have never found them to be ignorant or stupid. They seem to have a good sense of humor, style, and music in general.

This is probably the best rap album this year, possibly a couple years.

They have been mainstream for a while....ever since Mystic Styles
I disagree, I loved Mystic Stylez and still do. I think its one of their best albums to date.

Ahh those were the days. Honestly I still listen to them all the time. All of their albums are still good, they just progressed from their old school underground to mainstream party music to make $$$.
I do hate their more recent stuff though. They even turned Project Pat into a mainstream artist. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Yup, they have completely flopped and fallen mainstream with most other artists. Money > Musical Contributions for most all hiphop artists nowadays.

SMH @ you. you know nothing. everything before Da Unbreakables is good.
Correct! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Mystic Styles still carried on with their 'Evil' underground genre of music.

how the hell do you figure that?!

As well as I!

Glad to see someone else out there follows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

BTW- I (as well as most of my friends around here) have been listening to 36 and hypnotized for years. Dating back to when I first starting downloading music. I remember jamming all the classics back in the day like '*** & *******' 'Slob on my Knob' "Who Run It' etc....

Ill always have a taste for the older 36 material, but I never catch myself listening to anything more recent and including Da Unbreakables. Old skool ftw

One thing that does **** though, is all of that older material just has such lower quality, sometimes I cant stand playing it in my car.

I don't listen to the radio at all, but I believe most artist's do not control how much a radio station plays their music. So how does getting played more on the radio make them sold out? Wouldn't the music have to be good enough to be in constant rotation?

Now I know you're gonna say 99% stuff on the radio is horrible, I agree, hence why I don't listen to it but I don't see how radio play automatically makes you sold out. It can't be on the radio and be good?
