that would work, but that means dropping my gas tank to get to the last nut.

i think ill just double up the bottom and counter sink the nut on the bottom.

I would double up both sides, you dont want all-thread sticking through the top of the box.... I mean its preference I guess but it would look tacky. I would go a little bigger than 5/8's though. Hell if the price gets to high get some rigid conduit and use that, would be better and probably cost the same

Yeah, that would be no fun dropping the tank...So the double up the top/bottom and you will be set...GL

Sorry for the sad sounding question, but why do you use threaded rod for bracing???

-Easy to do, just drill 2 holes and 4 nuts+4 washers per all-thread bar

-Takes up very little volume compared to other bracing options

-And has ridiculously high strength...practically unmovable

You can "flush mount" the threaded rod.

Drill a hole in the top and bottom of the box big enough for the washer and to fit something in big enough to tighten down the nuts and washers.

Cut out two 4" by 4" pieces of MDF to glue and screw inside of the box (top and bottom). Drill holes just big enough for the threaded rod to go through.

You will actually be mounting the threaded rod to the small squares of MDF on the inside of the box. This way you can cut off the threaded rod flush with the actual top and bottom of the box.

thanks for all the ideas guys. gunna run past home depot tomorrow and pick up some things. ill post pics once its all done for those of you that want to see it.
