Thoughts on Probox?

So I went and had the system installed, and instead of a Kicker CVR 10" the guy installed a Probox C618L-400 that comes with just an 8" sub. Along with the rest of the system he installed, it sounds decent. Maybe I haven't tweaked the settings just right.

But I'm not that into car audio, so I've never heard of them. Is their quality decent? The box looks ok, albeit kind of big. I just want to make sure he didn't try screwing me over by giving me an inferior product.

The only reason I didn't buy online and have a local person install like you guys recommended, is because everyone I called in my area refused to install products bought online. I must have called 15 places. Idk if they were just saying that so they could make more money off of me, but they all flat out said no.

Any place will install whatever. You got shafted. All you have to do is walk out, they will change their story.

If I could find a place that will agree to install stuff I buy online, I could easily sell the equipment I just got to another corvette owner for new prices. All of the wiring is done, so all I would need to do is install new speakers which I can do myself, and have the sub box built and sub installed. Along with a bit of tweaking.

The reason why a shop won't install something that isn't bought from them is because they don't want to deal with defective products and have the customers blame them for it. Why accuse OP right away? Do you know him personally? Maybe he has more money than time? Not everyone is a cheap bastard like most people on this forum, they just want to have it done.
